 As a former educator, Lauren has instilled in her students the importance of reading and using the written word as a tool of expression. Her goal is to ensure that a writer's voice is both clear and concise for the audience to truly understand the heart and intention of their words. Her passion to teach has led her to work with students of all ages- from middle school to the collegiate level; and her experience in editing ranges from essays, personal statements, website designs, and dissertations. Lauren received her undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia. It was in her studies, that she learned a variety of writing styles and techniques. She emphasizes the importance of having a strong written stance that is supported by concrete and reliable information to ensuring that a writer's word choice evokes feeling and purpose that is both relevant and relatable to the reader. Currently, Lauren serves as a Program Coordinator for a non-profit organization in northeastern North Carolina, where she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She is excited to join the team at Purposely Booked in the role of Book/Copy Editor.

Krystal is an exceptional educator and mentor with over 13 years of experience that includes teaching, administration, and advising other educators. She has extensive qualifications not limited to a bachelor's degree in Birth-Kindergarten Education from Elizabeth City State University cum laude, as well as a summa cum laude Master's Degree in Education with a focus on education and development from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Krystal brings an impressive skill set to her work, including keen attention to detail. She is also highly creative; Krystal seeks innovative solutions to improve performance while adhering to structure and organization.
